| Mrs. Foster, President and General
Manager of Habersham Broadcasting Company, graduated from Piedmont College
and earned a Master's Degree from UGA.
She studied organ at Mercer University
and has been the organist at First Baptist Church of Cornelia for many years. She taught High School English before becoming
Manager of WCON.
A major accomplishment was achieved
at WCON in the mid to late 80's, when she was able to obtain a 50,000 watts
license for her FM station, and then build the new tower and studios.
Some of Mrs. Foster's other accomplishments
include: working with the Habersham
County United Way, a Board Member
of the Cornelia Kiwanis Club, Chattahoochee
Mountain Fair Assoc., and Habersham
County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of
the Habersham County Library
Board, and two terms on the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Board
of Directors.
Her awards include being named
Woman of Achievement by the Habersham County
BPW Club, the Jean Harris Award
from the Habersham County Rotary Club, being named a Pacesetter for 1999
by the Northeast Georgian, and many others.
Her most cherished award and
her proudest moment, was at the 1999 Georgia
Association of Broadcasters
Convention when she was named Broadcaster of
the Year.
She is married to John C. Foster
and has two sons, Clayton and David. |
