When the need arises, WCON will recruit prospective employees from educational institutions in our area. Schools include Piedmont College, North Georgia Technical College, and the University of Georgia. We will contact organizations such as the Georgia Department of Labor and the Chamber of Commerce, to encourage the referral of qualified applicants, whenever job vacancies occur. When needed, WCON will undertake training programs designed to assist potential employees to qualify for positions in various areas of station operation. WCON maintains a constant effort to employ qualified persons in all positions. It is our feeling that we have performed well in providing equal opportunities for all applicants. WCON participated in and was a co-sponsor of the 2008 Georgia Association of Broadcasters - Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications Job Fair on Feb. 6 at the University of Georgia. Approximately 350 students participated in the Fair. WCON had no full-time job openings in 2007. -
